Im back

Alright my deepest most sincere apologies to everyone (including myself who demanded an update in the tagbox) for the unannounced rather long hiatus of my fairly angsty blog. Nevertheless I assure you that I, Michael Alexander Chee, return with new and refound angst and drama, fingers on the keyboard at the ready to pour out the emotional wastings and rantings of my sad depressed teenage life.

Now I'd like to spend this blog post talking about the going ons in my life over the past 1 month and also perhaps talking about the school year which has indeed ended. I will then proceed to talk about some random things that I like to call "issues".

Firstly, a recap of the past month. Well that's rather a lot to recap so I shall just highlight some events. Firstly - the official end of the promotional exams was rather enjoyable I must say, although it did include a rather horribly done Biology Science Practical Assessment and a very very enjoyable Chemistry one. Chem SPA skill C is for people who have lack of sleep, seriously. On the thursday of that week I was then shipped (or bus-ed) to the faraway lands of Lim Chu Kang to this wooden hut that we called home for a few days. Ah CCAAB camp was quite exciting and unlike other camps I felt that the support was really there and we weren't doing things just for the sake of doing things. That said, I in my rebellious frame of mind can of course find many many faults and yet when they ask for feedback I can find none. The part of camp I enjoyed the most was the night games where Mr Mark Ng did a very very funny demonstration of the rules and I was simply blown away by the ideas that they had. Involving every one while keeping the game non-violent. Now that is truly a wonder for my intellectual nerdy chess-inclined (or so it would seem) self. The night games saw yours truly meeting up with several pals and having a lot of fun finding numbers from 1 to 50.

The day after camp was over was CCAAB dinner and I'm sure you will have no problems finding any pictures of that harmonious ceremony. So the school week was quite boring to me, filled with Chinese and project work and then came the day of our promo results!! I was well thankful but a bit disappointed with myself because I felt that I should certainly get better grades than that.

General Paper: D (OH MY GOODNESS)
Chinese: E (E for expected and ...elephant)
Math: A
Chem: A
Economics: B (this made me happy)
Biology: C (I should have studied more)

Overall not too shabby I guess but yes I could have done better. My congratulations to those who got what they wanted be it straight A's or getting promoted and for those who didn't do as well as they'd like don't worry there's next year and if not getting what you like means not getting straight A's screw you :D

Then came the next week of more chinese and project work and I am quite proud to say my group is nicely bonded and our oral presentation is fine from my perspective. A certain day of school in this week was especially enjoyable for me due to certain reasons but with every high must come a low and that perhaps is what I may be experiencing at the moment. My overall results for the year are as followed

General Paper: B (a lot of people got A so I blame promos)
Chinese: E (yay?)
Math: A
Chem: A
Bio: B (grrrr)
Econs: B (I lubx you econsmdm)

I somehow managed to make the top 10% still which was my goal or measuring stick rather so I'm quite satisfied overall. Oh some strange thing possessed me as well to apply for H3 economics (Game theory) at SMU so we'll see how that goes. I was torn between Chemistry and Econs but decided that econs sounded more interesting. As much as chemistry has some wonderful friends. But so does econs.

On friday night (24th oct) Juice matt Lester and I went for this Night-Meh thing that Lester's church organised. It was basically bowling (where my skills have somewhat deproved from p6 heheh) and then supper where we went back to my place and then west coast park for games and then mustafa for shopping but we slept on the bus and lastly east coast park for carl's jr breakfast. I got home at 9am on saturday morning after leaving my place at like 7.25 on friday night. But It was good fun. thank you lester.

Monday was deepavali and I was with daddy. We went for carrot cake for breakfast. To summarise the day I watched Fast Food Nation and Jumper and dota'd. Tuesday was more interesting perhaps. Met Fern RX Chin Ling Pail at Coffee Bean for breakfast before rushing down to school to face the wrath of Laoshi. I shall touch on Chinese later. Met juice to cut hair before coming back to school for PW and then went shopping with Dwee and Lester (shopping with vouchers) and then met up with juice and matt to watch HSM3! The dancing and singing was good but the plot was a little boring to me. Boring and predictable. Not enough conflict kind of thing.

On Wednesday I got sick after training and spent the whole afternoon sleeping. Did have a chat with Sandra in school before Dwee came over. So Thursday was THE DAY. CHINESE A's!!! Now everyone who is anyone should know that I am a complete bust at Chinese, that is to say I have to think before i can say which is zuo and which is you. (left and right) And as Zoe so often points out I have a non-chinese accent and really bad pronunciation and tone.

So how has my Chinese journey come along? Assuming that I pass A's which I do hope and pray I will.

In primary one I was good at chinese as everyone was and almost got full marks and stuff. In primary 2 my grade dropped to a ... B? I've forgotten primary school grades. OH OH I KNOW its the 1 2 3 thing. Yeah it dropped to band 2. In primary 3 my suckiness manifested. I still remember my first mo xie. Obviously I had no idea what it was having either not understood when the teacher mentioned it before or the more likely possibility was I wasn't listening. Anywho, I remember she was like kai shi and my partner started writing and I was like huh wth do what? And I peeked over and he was writing out this passage from the ke ben!! It was the story bout you know you cut the corner of the table or something how many corners does it have and the boy answered 3 when it's 5. I was dumbfounded and like OH MY GOODNESS YOU MEMORISED THIS CRAP??!! But in more innocent terms. Primary 3 also marked my best grade for ting xie ever. 8/100. Or was it 3? Well yeah it looked something like that.
Going on I obviously did not take higher chinese and ended up with a B i think (or C?) for chinese for PSLE. In secondary school I tried very hard from sec 2 onwards to do my daily work because for GEP they count your daily work and all. So my organised nature helped me in getting full marks for chinese file. I ended up with a c5 for O's. This year, I actually got an A for my zuowen once and for the term 3 CA I got an A too! So thank you god for bringing me through this awesome language you created that I call my mother tongue and I hope I never have to write a zuo wen or answer a compre in chinese ever again. After Beijing.

Ok moving on to the school year. I have very muched enjoyed this year in ACJC, from orientation all the way to Chinese A's. I love my friends very very much and school would have sucked without a certain few people who played key roles in my life. It's like a book. The Story of MAC(no beth). I dub Lester Matthaeus and Justin the 3 witches. Can't wait to see how everyone has changed and stuff next year (I'm sure there will be changes) and yes I will miss you guys muchxmuuchz in holidays so hopefully we can still meet up sometime. Beijing people I'm sure we'll bond even more. Like from van der waal's to metallic or something.

Yep so all that said I'm gonna screw my insulting random things around the world and end this blog post here. Enjoy.
