This is michael

This is Michael. He is sad. Cos he spent like 4 hours in total tuning and doing crap to his drumset. And now it sounds horrible. Basically, now his neighbours can stand it (due to reduced noise), but he can't (due to monotonous sound). The only bright side is that his tuning knobs are better oiled and have their expiry date prolonged slightly. And. The set is now in a very nice position. But sounds crap :(

O's so far have been quite good. EM2 tomorrow. Meanwhile I remain _______ with ______. Don't bother trying to highlight it they're underscores. No hidden words for you. Oh. Nice playing yesterday Nat.

O levels Coming

Err the blogging has pretty much been on hiatus. But I'm officially saying there's gonna be nothing unless I'm absolutely delighted by my O's on that day or something. So all the best to people with exams - michael out.

God doesn't leave you

Isaiah 53:6
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to his own way;
and the LORD has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

I've turned away from God many times, and I'm sure all Christians alike have had periods in their life where God seems rather distant. I recently spent some serious time with God, confessing my sins and admitting my fears, many of which I had never realized bothered me. As it turned out I was actually afraid of many things, one of which being my faltering faith. I feel that faith is the key in any relationship. You have to believe and trust that at the end of the day, certain setbacks only make your relationship stronger. When we turn away from God, he's still there, waiting. This hymn came to mind, and I've never really reflected much about the lyrics. Anyway, I do hope and pray that in all circumstances we continue to trust in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;

There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Other than that, thanks for a good outing yesterday guys; especially Andrew who was the only one who joined me for breakfast. Sorry if my messing around actually did offend anybody, particularly Justin.

What I lack. A drummer's much needed acquisition; a good bassist.

full circle

Well. On the personal side of life, this week's most interesting event was me getting 350 dollars poorer. This was due to me buying a second-hand Pearl Eliminator Double Pedal that usually costs around 500. It's almost brand new except for a scratch on the connecting shaft, other than that it's a steal. I much prefer em to the Iron Cobras I borrowed a while back.

Alas, life has once again come full small circle in the big circle of life. It seems like only yesterday that Lester was wearing short pants...Oh wait it was yesterday that Lester was wearing short pants. Ironically I believe his short pants were more like long pants in sec1, seeing as they're the same pair. I shall now attempt to recap 10 rather memorable things from sec 1 to sec 4 in non chronological order. Do appreciate that I'm being very open and honest about some stuff.

Sec 1:
-Yoon Lay Beng made me introduce myself to the queer boy next to me in orientation, Lim Zi Yang
-A rather large nose belonging to Darren Low appeared in front of my face while at some cultural thing during orientation
-Was named class secretary despite being the new guy
-Charmed classmates with humour and dramatic renditions of Darth Maul's death and Legolas' unique abilities
-Co-invented the Limzy Chronicles
-Daniel Tan
-The entire "bootpolish" performance and preparation
-Getting my Karate Jnr Black Belt (fear not I've forgotten everything)
-Going to London/Amsterdam
-Watching tons of movies with Conrad

Sec2:
-Malacca OEP
-The Soo Dance
-Bandito Pockets and kempira Rice Burgers (eww)
-Jack attempting to commit suicide
-Birthday Party
-Befriending Jonathan Tan/Crawshaw/Andrew
-Not applying for IP
-Cleon
-YM camp:Mission Secret
-Started Drum Lessons

Sec3:
-Birthday
-YM Camp
-Joined Philos and ushering
-Ushering retreats, philos retreats
-Befriending Mildred, Nicole, Natalie, Jong
-Shanghai OEP
-Being "banded" with dwee and limzy
-Doing Well for the first time in my life
-The Trevor Transfer
-Taking over as NCO's
-Started blogging

Sec4:
-Leadership Development Program (got saboed to be asst. clan chief), the tent of truth or truth
-Bonding with classmates, especially so with Lester, Andrew, Justin, Limzy
-Hai Shi Hen Chao (Chinese intensive revision sessions before end-May O Levels)
-Senior's Night
-Having Natalie in School
-Night of Band Concert with Jia Min and classmates
-Teacher's Table Tennis Ball, Classroom squash, captains ball
-Getting 6 for prelims
-Tucky
-interesting friendship with Nicole

There's a lot more to be said about these 4 years in acs(i), but I feel that these were mostly the times that I was the happiest, with the exception of sec2 where it wasn't exactly a very happy year. As friends have come and gone, my close friends still remain by my side, supporting me and making my day, everyday. As for those who have rather severed ties with me, I wish you luck in your future endeavors, whether I'm a part of it or not. Life is like a circle, it does not end. It's not like a triangle or a rectangle, which ends...they have corners. But not a circle, it has no corners. Through the hardships and good times, I feel we've all come out satisfied, especially with this year. I couldn't have asked for better friends to spend my time with.

To 4.8 Apollos; Limzy, Andrew, Justin, Lester, Joel - Thanks and All the Best =)
