post

Well this post isn't going to be too good because I'm typing with the keyboard on my lap because my plate of beautiful grub occupies the table. Firstly, I'm appealing to EVERYBODY to subscribe to (or at least view) the following youtube user. He goes by the name of pianorokr, and is really quite good. Basically he plays songs on the piano, rather decently, and for some of the songs he even has step by step tutorials. While slightly amateur, there's no doubt that the videos show his talent. He plays everything by ear, by the way. So kindly tell all your friends bout him, and feel free to request videos even.

Here's a preview:

Yesterday was my O level English Oral. The examiner was this fairly young lady who was really nice, so hopefully I did enough to secure an a1. Preliminaries are this coming Monday, and it just struck me that I may somehow be the top student from acsi (locally). My logic being that I've been the top local in my class, and my class is supposed to be the top class. I of course will have to put in a lot more effort. I've been drumming a lot lately, in desperate attempts to improve drastically.

This section shall be all about Team USA. Team USA is simply insane, they play like a well-oiled machine, and have totally owned their two opponents so far. Here's a highlight reel of their first game against Venezuela, which they only beat by 40+. They beat the virgin islands today by 53, and it's also Kobe's birthday. Enjoy!

be my friend

I feel that I am a sociable person. To a certain extent at least. I recently realised that I had my msn conveniently at the side of this very blog. I also realised that nobody had added me since I spread the rumour that King Kong was actually godzilla in a suit. FURTHERMORE, I realised, to my dismay, that nobody tags. Well people do tag, littering my precious sanctuary of knowledge and whatchayoumacallit with garbage and pure PROFANITIES! Nevertheless, I shall remain sociable. Despite the ever so stereotypical idea that I, Bambi, do not use friendster, the truth is I actually do! If anybody wants to "check me out" (I believe that's still allowed in teenagersville?), my friendster account is surfzrup@gmail.com. Do note however, that I post no pictures and am not an active user of the website. The reason I have appealed to YOU is simply that the more friends you have on friendster, the cooler you are, or so I've inferred from the actions of certain special others.

My second point for the day is again based on friendship. Being the desperate, perverted, psychopath that I am, I have decided that I would allow myself to talk to girls that are not of the same age. There is a limit however, where x is from -1.1 to 1.1. This means that any girl that's 14 and err ... several months - 17 (rounded up to nearest year) will enjoy the privileges of my friendship. While this may sound purely chauvinistic and stupid coming from a nerdy GEP such as myself, I assure you that the effort put into this post, such as the constant correcting of my misspelled words, should be more than sufficient to acclaim for my aggressive nature. Henceforth, if you are a not too shabby looking female in the above mentioned age limit, do feel free to come over, introduce yourself and more or less have me at your disposal for the rest of my youth, as is the case with all my friends. You even get the chance to officially call me mac or bambi, which is like, so the key to enlightenment.

This post should more or less shed some light on my social-ness. Do note that it is rather easy to be friends with me, as long as you can take the fact that I'm nerdy, lame, immature and rather desperate. All in all, please do consider rejecting me, I really am not that attractive.

the morning after the night before

First of all, happy Sunday to everyone. National day was on Thursday and seeing as I didn't bother then I don't think I'm gonna bother now. Nevertheless I feel the same as Andrew on this year's NDP song (link to his blog on left). Hence, I shall dedicate this post mainly to recounting my adventures this week, as well as err other miscellaneous things.

Wednesday was a annual pre-national day thing in school. This year ACS decided to hold a combined celebration at Queenstown Stadium. (Un)fortunately, only the year 3's and 5's were "invited" to attend. Seeing as I am neither retained nor a genius (to a promotional extent), I was left in school all ... "angry", being excluded from perhaps the most happening and fruitful event of the year (other than PM's and MM's birthday of course). Sad to say, we were only made to recite some recollections in the auditorium before proceeding with the tedious, tiring schedule of school. On a brighter note, such a schedule involved half a lesson of literature with Mr Lee TL and 2 hours of undisturbed basketball. Juice, Andrew, Limzy, Avery (OMG YEAH?), Lester and I then proceeded to the Cathay where we caught The Simpsons... MOVIE. A rather relaxing show to watch, especially if you're short on time because well it's short on time too, but full of humour.

Thursday was spent around Millenia Walk. My dad checked into Conrad Hotel for a day and so we spent National day around there, once going to suntec city to shop. Good hotel, new shoes, good sms company, good fireworks, good NDP, good taxi fare home, good day.

Friday was spent bumming around as usual, till I met up with Thong to play ball in the late afternoon. I won a 2 on 2 for like the first time in my entire life or something, and discovered that I actually am a rather good shooter. I also discovered that I do jump satisfyingly high but can only get my palm on the board. Thong came over again around 830 or so and we did work most of the way, along with playing neopets (Lester's fault) and talking to person on msn. By 11+ Thong's mom still hadn't called so I was rather excited that he was staying over. She did call eventually but gave the thumbs up anyway.

Saturday was spent with Thong mostly. We played pool, did tiny bits of work. I didn't do much for the rest of the time.

Today~ sister woke up late so mom and I had to cab to church because she rushed off with the car. By God's grace I didn't die*(explanation later) while ushering, and worship was good. I especially liked the offering song, which I don't know the title of because I was concentrating on my fabulous ushering. Cell was as usual not that educational, but it was good in the sense that we could see real life examples of God's word in action. The 5 minutes on Maple Story however, could have been reduced haha. For a TRUE (IMO) guide on enraging the opponent (without really doing much yourself), please refer to post from... November 18 2006. I just realised that my best blogging was in November last year, most probably from the influence of cocaine and Alpha. Back to the point, we (blanche, jia, mil, wen, zoo i mean me) studied a bit. Well I didn't exactly study but at least now I know my enthalpy and err ... something lime is pronounced something lime. Aluminium oxide is also a catalyst. Went to Bugis Crystal Jade Macau for lunch, then went home where I have been studying chem (due to inspiration from just now) as well as Math!

Now for the miscellaneous part. To all with prelims tmr; specifically Jia, Mil, Wen, The Other Michael, all other Barker guys from FOB, all the best, do your best, let God do the rest. Sorry to anybody else who also has prelims tomorrow, but well either I forgot or I didn't know but either way everyone will be kept in prayer.

today the tiredth

Well I woke up this morning and headed to Turf City for my expected Cross Country Mass run, where I EXPECTED to be running ever so slowly. However, my house (TKK) was short of runners because the people who had signed up either didn't turn up or didn't know they had been signed up, so I was asked to run (or walk since they just want points for participation) for my house. This ghastly request was at first shot down by me since I am obviously no runner and I wasn't intending on just walking. However the events and tides turned when this happened.

Darren Showing Off his Masculinity

Well upon seeing the Vice President of the Health and Fitness Club take arms, I ... along with many others was laughing my head off. I was then approached once again and this time, willing to accompany Dwee, agreed. So before the race started, I noticed how really buff and fit all the other runners were; athletic and strong and what not. Naturally, a skinny person like me stood no fighting chance. Dwee however, was unconvinced and strongly believed that he could do very well, resulting in him running really fast from the start and not agreeing to just jog slowly behind (which was my original plan). Inspired by such greatness, or rather not willing to let a pansy beat me, I started off at a moderate speed, jogging the entire way without stopping and sprinting my best on the last 150-200m stretch. I ran the best that I could and came in 34th (out of ... 60+?). Though disappointed that I wasn't winning any award at all (cos my house didn't do well enough), I was rather pleased at my accomplishment, considering I started right at the back and had no training whatsoever. Now what happened to Dwee... Let's take a look in a 3rd person POV...

The race had begun and he was off, striding through the wind as if he had practiced it everyday. He was still ahead of a large number of people, and could actually come in within the top 20. "We can never win", he remembered Michael saying, and pushed himself on further. But his body was not accustomed to such intense exertion, and within 400m Darren found himself slowing down, walking, stopping, struggling to catch his breath. Meanwhile the rest ran past him, and Michael gave him an encouraging pat on the back as he dashed past.

Nevertheless, I am proud that Dwee agreed to run and had the perseverance to finish the race. So, Congratulations Dwee!

recent string of events

I remain perplexed. Today I received a scroll for Gold for UYO for NPCC for doing alot for nothing. Furthermore I got a 0 error paper for my English test, but sadly was foiled by the anti-social Dwee who topped my outrageous score with his masculinity. Still waiting for pics from this morning. Tomorrow will be the school's annual cross country, where we students run a mere 1/10 of the actual diameter of the tiny island, after which hopefully a Vietnamese and several singaporeans will follow me home. I shall now conduct beginner introductory drum lessons FOC, and charge a rate of a mere 5 bucks an hour (negotiable) to teach you the very basics of the lovely instrument. Please note that I am in no way calling myself qualified and am simply leaving it to your own discretion, whatever that may be.

On a more important note, here is the long awaited posting of the match between Singapore (represented by master Lim Lim Lim) and Malaysia (represented by master Chen Muhammed) in the latest craze, "teacher's tabletennis ball". Mr Lim hails from the suburbs of Singapore, where Holland meets Farrer. When asked how he trained for the match, Mr Lim had only one thing to say, "Nearby Butch School". As for Mhd Chen, he has grown up using his hands for labour. The match was heated, and the video cuts it short at 4-3 Singapore. Malaysia however, went on to win the game 5-4.

well its logical

do people take into account addresses before they get attached? Cos it is troublesome to travel long distances. Not that it would hinder love but as opposed to having a ... "partner" who lives nearby maybe few bus stops or max 20 minutes or something... Right anyway. I'm rather confused. And thankfully I have several good friends who can help me out :). Then again without friends I wouldn't be having this problem at all. But friends are still better.
