draft day
now this is interesting. but before I get to more basketball stuff, I got my 1.5k scholarship!! yay. right and err today went to watch transformers with Limzy, boyboy, juice and matthaeus. DRAFT DAY: I personally like Durant more than Oden, but I think that's because Durant is simply insane. I guess Oden will probably end up the next JO or something but yeah I was hoping Durant would be first. Anyway, for those who don't know, (In order of Picks) Portland: Greg Oden Seattle: Kevin Durant Memphis: Mike Conley Jr Boston: Jeff Green (traded to Seattle) Atlanta: Al Horford Milwaukee: Yi Jian Lian Minnesota: Corey Brewer Charlotte: Brandon Wright (traded to golden state) Chicago: Joakim Noah Sacramento: Spencer Hawes Atlanta: Acie Law Philadelphia: Thaddeus Young New Orleans: Julian Wright LA clippers: Al Thornton And the scariest news (IMO), the Boston Seattle trade. Because now Boston is going from one of the worst teams this season to Paul Pierce AND RAY ALLEN. My gosh. But well it works both ways cos Seattle is getting alot in return and Durant is good so I'm gonna be scared of these two teams this season. The only compensation is that Ray ray and Paul play SG. I think. So I suppose the SF position is gonna be a bit undersized (allowing ron ron to pwn, if the kings keep him). Secondly, my fav team's draft. Spencer Hawes. Now the general consensus or opinion is that the Kings made a VERY DISAPPOINTING pick. Because Hawes, a 7 footer, is a superb low post scorer and offensive threat. BUT his rebounding and shot blocking are rather abysmal. Which hence has kings fans cussing due to the Kings need for: Rebounding, Defense. So apparently Hawes is gonna be a brad miller type of player. But since I'm not that much of a supporter (eg I don't buy season tickets, not living in the US), my passion for simply winning is not that great and I wouldn't mind not having trades (other than for Kenny Thomas). So naturally I'm ok with Hawes seeing as he was the best center at the #10 pick. |
